Neon signs on photobooth backdrops have become very trendy in 2021, here are the pros and cons of having one.
Cons: Make sure the neon sign you are providing has a dimer so we can graduate the intensity, otherwise photos may look like these: (washout)
Why? The neon sign has 25 watts vs 300 from our professional flash. Is kind of tricky to make the neon sign on a photobooth session look glowy.
Cons: OMG, those cables! Unless you have talked with your photo booth vendor if is possible to edit the cables from the neon sign, do not expect it. We are all about perfection and have a postproduction team that couldn’t stand the cable sticking out, so we did edit every single photo, 289 to be precise! You know, go above and beyond. (I’m sure our couple didn’t even notice hahaha) but we do.
Love working with The Taylors! 🙂 Okay, so here is the thing. Reflection is something that is very hard to avoid. You have three options:
#1 Point the neon sign down otherwise the umbrella with the photo booth flash will be reflected on the transparent background as you can see in the photos!
#2. Move your source of lighting somewhere else. in our case, We couldn’t move our flash, because is already incorporated on top of our boothÂ
#3. Change your camera settings, turning down the intensity of the flash. Note! People may look dark but the neon may glow. In our case we rather people looking nice than give the neon sign that glow.
Note: It depends on the size, weight, and shape of the sign, sometimes you can’t do much because there is no way to have the neon sign pointing down!
How does a neon sign look on a black & white glam filter?
Have in mind the color of the neon sign it does influence the photos! (Pink, white, purple, blue, red, etc…)
Important! From 2023 we won’t be renting our neon signs with our regular photo booth backdrops anymore unless is with our flower walls.
