Natirar Weddings | Ali + Matt

An unassuming sign marked the entrance to Natirar. Driving past it, the road opened up to reveal a rolling expanse of hills, softly glowing in the evening light. Pulling up to The Mansion at Natirar for the reception, we got a little peek of the ceremony, Ali and Matt side by side, but soon our attention was drawn to the family of deer nibbling away at the grass right beside our car–as perfect a way to begin a fairytale as any!

As the guests celebrated the newlyweds over cocktails, it was time for us to work our magic, transforming a corner of the conservatory patio into a shimmering alcove: we hoisted up our new gold-sequin backdrop, settled our photo booth across from it, and splayed out a fun arrangement of props to the side, complete with customized cut-outs of Ali’s and Matt’s faces!

 

With a little time to spare before it was our turn to entertain the guests, we snuck a look at the ballroom next door. Tables sat beautifully at the edges of the room, dressed in white and adorned with florals by Twisted Willow Flowers. In the middle were an empty dance floor and a DJ table where Lovesick would spin some tunes.

But it wasn’t empty for long. Soon the guests came pouring in, with photographer Lauren Kearns and videographer Color Room Films the following suit to capture the night.  Back to our photo booth, it was time to make more memories!  

3… 2… 1… Snap!  3… 2… 1… Snap!  3… 2… 1… Snap!

Before long, we got a steady rhythm going. Well… for the most part 😉

Between every snap of a photo came the scramble of switching props and poses. Some needed more guidance. Others were seasoned professionals with the foresight to plan all three photos before even stepping in front of the booth, huddling in line to come up with a game plan. Very serious business!

 

But regardless of their experience level, the photo booth was for everyone and everyone had a blast. 

There were little kids who got a little boost to get in frame…

There were young couples in love…

…and older couples in love.

There were large groups of friends…

…and people who made enough fun on their own.

 

Some didn’t even know that they would get a print out from the photo booth right then and there, and so they strolled off without their prints, having just as much fun as everyone else. (More photos for the bride and groom’s scrapbook!) The fun is all in the taking of it!

Finally, it came time for the bride and groom to make their entrance. All the guests rushed over–some with props still draped over them–to see the newlyweds share their first dance to “Two Is Better Than One” by Boys Like Girls. Ali glowed in hair and makeup by La Sorella Bridal, but even more so, she glowed with Matt.

Tears were shed then wiped away with smiles in a swirl of love and laughter.

And they lived happily ever after.
